The features of the magnificant bookcase are too numerous to mention. Made from highly figured Australian red cedar, this cabinet is the definition of traditional. Built as a reproduction from the 1860's over a period of some 800 hours, this stunning piece required all the skills of the 19th centry craftsman. From fine joinery and intricate veneeering, carving, turning and marquetry, to the hand rubbed french polished finish, this bookcase is all class. Opening the bottom doors reveals a secret cellarette, holding 6 bottles of wine; a nice touch by maker, Les Donges. Photo 2 shows the secretaire compartment with hand dovetailed drawers. Photos 3 & 4 show the drawer and corbel details.
